National Mentoring Month has arrived! We’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be participating all month long with blog posts, twitter chats, and a new theme each week. Check out our schedule below to get a better idea of what’s coming up this month:
Each week we want to focus on an important outcome of our online mentoring program. Our desired impact is to develop a generation of academically prepared, civically engaged and economically inspired young people.
The week of January 7 we’ll be focusing on Academic Preparedness. We’ll take a look at tips and tools from mentors and have a guest blog post from a teacher using the icouldbe program.
The following week of January 14 we will focus on the topic of Civic Engagement. Our very own Executive Director, Kate Schrauth, will share her thoughts on the importance of civic engagement.
During the week of January 21, our theme is Economic Inspiration. The blog will feature a post from one of our mentors and mid-week we will host a Twitter Chat (#icbchat).
Those are our planned posts and events, BUT don’t forget to follow our Facebook and Twitter pages throughout the month for Mentoring Month-related conversations and content. We’ll also be attending the National Mentoring Summit in D.C. later this month, so please follow along with us and share your own experiences. Don’t forget to follow and use #MentorNextGen in all your Mentoring Month-related posts!
Happy Mentoring Month one and all!
